Gaman Art Bird Pins

The Friends participated in making bird pins inspired by a popular craft among incarcerated Japanese Americans during World War II. The pins were carved by hand, painted, and worn as brooches to express beauty, individuality, resourcefulness and creativity.

On Tuesday, April 14th, the Friends sponsored a presentation from Rob Crisell, the author of six books, including California Avocados: A Delicious History. His fascinating informative lecture showcased his vast knowledge as winemaker, Shakespearean actor, lawyer and teacher.
